If Austin Energy is your electric service provider, you may be eligible to receive a rebate for up to 50% off the cost of installation of a qualified Level 2 charger in your primary residential property up to $1200. Homeowners installing a Level 2 charger at their primary address can take advantage of a federal tax credit under the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit Act. It provides owners of EV charging stations a tax rebate of 30% of the installation cost or up to $1000. Fill out IRS form 8911 and consult your tax professional for more information.
